It is easy to make your own natural facial cleanser from common food ingredients. Oil, oatmeal, dairy products and vegetable water are some ideas.

Natural Facial Cleansers Instead Of Soap

Sometimes soap can be too harsh of a cleanser on facial skin because it strips the skin of its natural oils. Using an alternative natural cleanser can be effective at cleansing the skin without removing the skin’s natural oils. There are a few natural ingredients that can be used as facial cleansers. After using any of these cleansers, wipe away residue with a toner or distilled water and then moisturize the skin.

Yogurt And Oatmeal As Gentle Cleansers

You can use yogurt as a cleanser. Just massage gently the yogurt over the face while avoiding the eye area. Rinse with warm water and gently pat the skin dry. You can also use cooked oatmeal as a gentle face cleanser. The oatmeal will soothe and protect dry skin. You can mix yogurt and oatmeal together for a facial cleanser. If you add a little bit of cornmeal or ground oats to the mixture, these will act as a gentle exfoliate for the skin.

Exfoliation With Dairy Products

Other dairy products that can be used as a gentle facial cleanser and exfoliate include milk, buttermilk or cream. Dairy products will hydrate and provide nutrition directly to the skin as they cleanse. Dairy products used as cleansers are gentle enough for all skin types. The lactic acids in dairy products also act as an exfoliate on the skin.

Cleanse With Vegetable Oil

Dry or mature skin can benefit from using a plain vegetable oil or butter as a natural cleanser in the same way that a cold cream is used to clean the face and neck. Another cleanser for dry skin is made from one part each of olive oil and honey with two parts distilled water. You can leave this mixture on for a few minutes before gently wiping it off.

Pass The Vegetables, Please

You can use cooked vegetables as a gentle facial cleanser. You can also use the water used from cooking vegetables as a gentle skin nutritious cleanser. Use fresh ingredients in small one time use amounts. Freeze liquids as ice cubes and thaw as necessary for use as natural cleansers.

Fruit Smoothie Cleanser

Fruit pulps can be used as gentle facial cleansers. Food pulps that are suitable for cleansing purposes include cantaloupe, avocado, squash and bananas. These fruits have a high oil content that will condition the skin. Bananas act as an exfoliate on the skin.

Water Draws Oil From The Skin's Surface

Oily skin can be gently cleansed with plain distilled water. The water will remove any excess oil and can be used as a gentle cleanser a few times each day. You can use a few tablespoons of fresh steeped green tea or peppermint tea as a gentle facial cleanser.

It is easy to use natural ingredients as gentle facial cleansers as an alternative to natural soap cleansers and liquid soap. By using natural ingredients in your daily skin routine, you will be applying skin nutritious ingredients regularly onto your face. By using a natural cleanser, you can improve the appearance of your skin.
