If you're interested in getting more involved in green activities in the coming year, you might want to check out one of the following expos or other special events planned for 2008: The Climate Change Summit 2008, Feb. 12 - 13, 2008, Regents Park Marriott Hotel, London, U.K. Aimed at business leaders, the summit will tackle such subjects as how to become a low-carbon business, carbon offsets, strategies for risk management and more. Big Bend Green Living and Energy Expo, March 22, 2008, Riversprings Middle School, Crawfordville, Florida, U.S. Held for the first time in 2007, the expo features exhibits and workshops to help people reduce their impact on the environment and make better purchasing and lifestyle decisions. Better Living Show, March 28 - 30, 2008, Portland Expo Center, Portland, Oregon, U.S. The show will feature pavilions dedicated to lifestyles, homesand gardens, clean technology, eco adventures, transportation, recycling, food and beverages, and conservation. Seattle Green Festival, April 12 - 13, 2008, Washington State Convention and Trade Center, Seattle, Washington, U.S. Sponsored by Global Exchange and Co-op America, the Seattle Green Festival will feature more than 200 exhibitors; five stages of speakers; sessions on green investing; organic food, wine and beer; live music; a kids' zone; and more. Earth Day, April 22, 2008, global. Observed since 1970, Earth Day is marked by gatherings, special events and environmentally-oriented activities around the world. Living Green Expo, May 3 - 4, 2008, Minnesota State Fairgrounds, St. Paul, Minnesota, U.S. This free event features more than 200 exhibits, workshops on sustainability and green living, music, art, food, demonstrations and activities for children. LondonAware '08, May 10 - 11, 2008, Barbican, London, U.K. This green living expo aims to provide a "'one-stop shop or regular people and businesses who want to live and work in a more sustainable way." Chicago Green Festival, May 17 - 18, 2008, Navy Pier, Chicago, U.S. Sponsored by Global Exchange and Co-op America, the Chicago Green Festival will showcase more than 350 green businesses and include numerous speakers, a fair-trade pavilion, yoga classes, green films, a kids' zone, live music and organic dining. Green West, May 20 - 22, 2008, Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, California, U.S. Aimed at government decision-makers, businesses and consumers, Green West will feature exhibits of green building supplies and furnishings, green electronics and office products, architectural and engineeering services and more. Green Toronto Festival, May 23 - 24, 2008, Yonge-Dundas Square, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The festival will feature exhibits of green products and services, speakers, children's activities, music, locally grown food and more. Big Green Gathering, Aug. 2008, Somerset, U.K. This annual event experienced financial difficulties after its 2007 festival, but has since started fund-raising and plans to hold a smaller event in 2008. Details are expected to be posted on the Website sometime in December. Washington, D.C., Green Festival, Nov. 8 - 9, 2008, Washington, D.C., Convention Center, Washington, D.C., U.S. Sponsored by Global Exchange and Co-op America, the Washington, D.C., Green Festival will highlight more than 350 green businesses, 125 speakers, green films, how-to workshops, music and organic cuisine. San Francisco Green Festival, Nov. 14 - 16, 2008, San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center, San Francisco, California, U.S. Sponsored by Global Exchange and Co-op America, the San Francisco Green Festival will feature an appearance by Deepak Chopra, along with other speakers, exhibits and activities.
