Vintage Jewelry

Vintage jewelry in thrift shops should always be looked over twice. From a distance many of they jewelry styles appear modern until there is a closer inspection done. Bold, chunky, or delicate jewelry makes good gift choices. If the piece of jewelry is in good condition it should have several additional years of wear left. Search for decorative pins, jeweled broaches, necklaces, earrings, and rings.

Vintage Boots

Vintage pirate books, slouch boots, and high heeled snow boots are currently in style. These fashionable boots can be found in a leather, weather proof materials, and in man made leather varieties. If the heel is worn, but the leather upper is in good condition take the shoe in for shoe repair. Always look for the shoe size within the boot. Many fabulous vintage boots are in European sizes, know the size measurement for the gift recipient. Shoe repair shops can also inexpensively polish and restore leather before the gift is presented at Christmas.

Vintage Books

Purchasing vintage books about hobbies can show genuine interest in another persons hobby or displayed collections. There are great vintage titles on subjects in nature, such as bees to genealogy. Selecting a book for a Christmas gift that is based on someones hobby, shows that care for others personal interests. Pages can be cut out of vintage books and framed.

Craft stores can professionally frame the pages. If the picture itself is in poor condition, simply photo copy in black and white or color copy the picture to create a piece of artwork. Good examples are vintage sewing instructional books, magazines with old ads, vintage car ads, city scenic views, and pictures of scenic nature.

Vintage Scarves

Silk vintage scarves can be worn as belts or scarves. Shop for scarves in the vintage lingerie department. Avoid purchasing scarves that are made of synthetic fiber blends. Always look for a label. If there is no label use your fingers to confirm the material is silk. Look for vibrant pattern and classic designer logos. Silk scarves can be cleaned professional or hand washed in Woolite for delicate fabrics.

Vintage Christmas gifts can be a great conversation piece. Most vintage items are of the best quality and can be easily combine with other Christmas presents for a truly unique gift.
