One of the things I've discovered in my ongoing quest to live in an environmentally responsible manner is, the more I learn, the more reasons I find to live even greener and more sustainably.
Without knowing much about how our food is produced, for example, we can still recognize the importance of eating fresh, healthful and nutritious foods. But the more you read and learn about modern agriculture and food processing, the more you begin to apprecite the environmental and health benefits of, say, organically grown produce and hormone-free milk, eggs, chicken and beef.
Similarly, the more you find out about where our cotton clothing, wood furniture and plastics come from , the more incentive you discover to buy organic fabrics, sustainably harvested woods and natural products instead.
So keep reading and keep learning, wherever and however you can. Knowledge is not only power, it's the best way to move yourself and others toward a better, greener way of living.
